Comprehensive system delivers compiler for DAP/DNA chips in six weeks

ACE Associated Compiler Experts announced that IP Flex, Inc. has successfully developed a C compiler for its new high performance, reconfigurable DAP/DNA chips using ACE's CoSy compiler development system.

One person who had no previous compiler development experience developed the C compiler within six weeks. This allowed the company to demonstrate benchmark code to investors and customers. IP Flex utilized ACE's one-week training course to accelerate development time.

IP Flex is the first of a unique breed of Japanese technology companies providing application-first solutions for microprocessors. IP Flex has developed the most advanced flexible and reconfigurable microprocessor, based on a unique, state-of-the-art DAP/DNA implementation. Using templates designed to optimize data flow execution and parallelism through multiple command stream-based executions, DAP/DNA guarantees higher performance levels based on a new hardware structure for applications.

"Speed and quality were the two key reasons we selected CoSy, and we're extremely pleased with the results," said James Jones, sales and marketing manager for IP Flex. "In addition, we've enjoyed a close relationship with ACE, with constant advice and assistance. CoSy's solid infrastructure helped us to easily build the robust compiler we need for our microprocessors, and their support of the C development language is unparalleled in the industry."

"CoSy is geared toward the most advanced and complex architectures being developed today, providing a comprehensive development system for high-quality, robust compilers," said Rob Kurver, managing director of ACE Associated Compiler Experts. "ACE works closely with industry leaders and innovators to continue to deliver the system for compiler development new technologies require. We are thrilled to be working with an innovative company as IP Flex, and we look forward to a close and successful relationship."

IP Flex expects to be in production with the first of their new chips by September 2001.
