1st CoSy User Group Meeting Great Success

Amsterdam, 1 September 2004

On Wednesday 1st of September, the very first CoSy User Group Meeting was held in the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in the center of Amsterdam. Members of the CoSy society from all over the world gathered at this unique event to discuss this compiler development system, sharing experiences and results, as well as to learn about new things that can be expected in the upcoming release.

By general experience, this first CoSy User Group Meeting has been a great success. 23 CoSy Users from 13 companies and institutes took part in the highly interactive event that revolved around a common notion of good experiences with the CoSy compiler development system. Both users and the CoSy development team were happy to meet some of the faces behind the e-mails and phone conversations and took the occasion to get to know one another at a personal level.

The program was cram-packed with a wide variety of interesting presentations from CoSy users, software tool partners, as well as ACE CoSy experts. Industrial users presented their specific - sometimes very advanced - use of the CoSy compiler development system. Research users presented the results of the compiler research with CoSy. Software tools partners presented the possibilities and benefits of CoSy technology integrated in hw/sw co-design EDA tools. ACE compiler experts presented a number of advanced features readily available in the current version of CoSy or under development for the upcoming release. After a short excursion to the new ACE office, the day was concluded with a group dinner on the top floor of one of the highest buildings of the city with a stunning view over Amsterdam by night.

Possibilities for a next CoSy Clan gathering in 12-18 months time frame are being investigated.
