Leading Japanese DSP institute selects CoSy® for DSP compiler research

The Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo, Japan), one of the world leaders in DSP compiler technology, has selected ACE's CoSy compiler development platform to research and develop new DSP optimization strategies. As a result of this important institute's entry into ACE's worldwide R&D network, commercially available versions of CoSy will soon be enriched by some of the most advanced DSP optimizers known today or yet to be developed.

"We chose CoSy for its modularity, because it makes it particularly easy for us to install new optimizers and evaluate their effect on DSP performance," said TITech Professor Akinori Nishihara. "We expect some very interesting opportunities to arise from the ability to embed our existing and future dedicated DSP optimizations into CoSy," he added.

Commenting for ACE, Managing Director Rob Kurver said, "The researchers at TITech really were one of the first groups to seriously address DSP optimization, which means they have a wealth of experience in this area. We are therefore particularly pleased that this highly regarded institute has adopted CoSy as one of the main tools for its research work, and become the first Japanese member of the CoSy R&D network."

Professor Akinori Nishihara's research group at TITech have a worldwide reputation for being at the forefront of DSP compiler technology, and are highly active in academic societies and international conferences on DSP issues. In addition to DSP compilers, their research topics include the design and implementation of 1-D and multi-D digital filters, filter banks and wavelets.
