Strategic planning, corporate growth key focus for van Vlijmen
The ACE Group, developers of advanced system software products, has appointed Joseph van Vlijmen to its corporate management team. Van Vlijmen joins the company from his position as a principal with Headstrong. In the last few years, ACE has invested significantly in worldwide growth, especially in the embedded arena through subsidiary ACE Associated Compiler Experts. With the continuing corporate growth in Europe, the United States and Asia, Van Vlijmen is tasked with corporate development. His responsibilities include strategic planning and development, operations, recruitment and general corporate management. Van Vlijmen will develop strategic plans for expanding the presence of the company, as well as participating in engineering strategy and technical development.

Joseph van Vlijmen has over twenty years experience in the complementary backgrounds of technology, finance and new ventures. Before joining Headstrong, he was an IT director with Credit Suisse First Boston developing equity derivatives trading and risk management systems. He was also a project manager with Softlab and Global Knowledge Networks. Prior to this, van Vlijmen spent several years as a partner of a boutique specializing in new ventures and has extensive experience in software development and management. He attended the Sloan Programme at the London Business School from which he holds an MSc in management science. He also holds an MSc in computer science from Queen Mary College, London and a BSc in mathematics from King's College, London.
